In a collaborative effort to envision the future of sustainable living in Kassel, we hosted a public mapping event at Stadtteilzentrum Wesertor und Ook. Together with members of the public, we shared a massive piece of paper, inviting participants to express their aspirations for CONNECTING ECOSYSTEMS.
This year’s Sasikirana Dance Camp was hosted by Jatiwangi Arts Factory and dealt with the topic “Body and Soil.” This video follows the practice sessions of the young dancers from all over Indonesia combined with the interview with founder Keni Soeriaatmadja, delving into the intricate connections between dance, ethnicity, and social environments.
What fascinated me (Ella) the most was whether a film about queer-feminist gardening would generate interest in predominantly Islamic Indonesia. Indeed, I was pleasantly surprised by the openness with which the film was discussed. Even in an Islamic boarding school, the film was screened and discussed by the students.
In this interview, we delve into the world of urban gardening and community collaboration with Juli (Julian Rizki), one of the Co-Founders of Selarasa Food Lab in Jakarta. As an expanding network of urban gardens, Selarasa Food Lab plays a vital role in reshaping the food system of Jakarta, especially amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic.
