EVENT // PLANTING CELEBRATION// // 16th January 2024 // DHAKA// BRITTO ARTS TRUST

The community garden in Hasnabad was the result of weeks of hard work and collaboration. As we prepared for our planting day celebration, there was a sense of excitement in the air.

To start the festivities, we gathered for an origami workshop led by Ruso. The children eagerly learned how to craft paper flowers and planes, adding a touch of creativity to the occasion.

With their handmade paper flowers in hand, the children made their way to the garden. They each got a real flower too, carrying it to the raised beds and planting it alongside the vegetables, symbolizing their contribution to the garden’s growth. Thus, each plant has its own guardian.

Under Karsten’s guidance, the children carefully tended to their plants, ensuring they were properly settled into the soil. It was a gratifying moment, seeing the garden come to life with the help of the community.

As the planting day concluded, there was a sense of accomplishment and community among everyone involved. The celebration wasn’t just about the garden – it was about coming together to create something meaningful for the community.

Thank you, Ruso, for sharing your beautiful workshop and supporting us in so many ways.
