In a collaborative effort to envision the future of sustainable living in Kassel, we hosted a public mapping event at Stadtteilzentrum Wesertor und Ook. Together with members of the public, we shared a massive piece of paper, inviting participants to express their aspirations for CONNECTING ECOSYSTEMS. 

What issues concern each of us?

And what do we miss within our community and cityscape?

Attendees enthusiastically shared their ideas and wishes for the city, fostering a sense of community engagement and collective visioning. From urban gardens to eco-friendly initiatives, the diversity of ideas reflected the shared commitment to building a more sustainable and resilient urban landscape.

Following the mapping session, participants embarked on a leisurely bike tour lead by Karsten Winnemuth through Kassel’s vibrant gardens. Along the way, they met with the dedicated organizers of each garden, who provided insights and introductions to their projects. This immersive experience not only familiarized participants with Kassel’s thriving community gardening scene but also allowed them to contribute their wishes for future permaculture endeavors within our project.
