As an expanding network of urban gardens, Selarasa Food Lab plays a vital role in reshaping the food system of Jakarta, especially amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic. Juli shares his personal journey, from his connection to farming driven by a desire to provide healthy food for his pregnant wife, to his role in expanding the network and fostering collaboration among local farms.

Juli holds a special place in our hearts, as he was the first person we met in Jakarta. From the moment we arrived, he generously shared his insights and knowledge of the city during our tours, often accompanied by shared meals, drives, and heartfelt conversations. His warmth, hospitality, and unwavering dedication to community building have been a constant source of inspiration and collaboration throughout our journey.
